Last month, during South by Southwest, Austin360 had the chance to chat with a young, up-and-coming pop-punk band from Nashville with a rather unappetizing name. Diarrhea Planet played a couple of fun, memorable sets that week, performing songs off its two releases, 2013’s "I’m Rich Beyond Your Wildest Dreams" and 2011’s "Loose Jewels." Didn’t have a chance to check them out? They’ll be playing Red 7 on June 27, and tickets go on sale Friday morning.
More tickets on sale at 10 a.m. Friday:
• The Antlers at the Parish (July 20)
• Boris at the Mohawk (July 29)
• Jay Brannan at Stubb’s (Aug. 5)
• Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at the Mohawk (Aug. 11)
Already on sale: Todd Barry at the North Door (April 27); the Dickies at the Mohawk (May 2); the 1975 at Stubb’s (May 30); Potty Mouth at Red 7 (June 4); Andrew Bird & the Hands of Glory at the Paramount (June 16); Tracy Morgan at the Paramount (June 28).
On sale soon: Tickets to see Logic perform at Emo’s on May 30 go on sale April 15; tickets to see Andy Grammar at the Parish on June 13 go on sale April 19; tickets to see PHOX at Stubb’s on June 27 go on sale April 19; and tickets to see Nickel Creek at ACL Live go on sale April 18.
ACL Fest lineup, tickets
Why yes, it is almost "that time" again.
The 2014 Austin City Limits Music Festival lineup will be announced at 8 a.m. April 22, according to the festival’s organizers. At 10 a.m. the same day, three-day passes will go on sale. The regular-priced, general admission tickets will set you back $225.
Want to live up ACL weekend like a headliner? Music fans can also enter the festival’s Rockstar Weekend contest for a chance to win four Platinum Passes (including complimentary catering and bar access, as well as VIP stage views), an on-site private tour bus, four flights, two hotel rooms and more. A contest winner will be selected April 21.
VIP & Platinum Passes and travel packages for the fest are already on sale. According to the official website, ACL Fest is also bringing back single-day passes later in the spring. Last year, only three-day tickets were available for the fest, a departure from previous festivals.
This year’s festival is again two weekends, Oct. 3-5 and 10-12. Go to www.aclfestival.com to enter the contest.

Next week in Austin360
We’ll take a look at the lineup for year three of the Moontower Comedy & Oddity Festival, which is packed with funny people from Austin and elsewhere. We’ll also have details on this year’s Reggae Fest, which moves to Butler Park because of ongoing construction at Auditorium Shores.
