H-E-B issues recall of chicken product sold at some stores

San Antonio-based H-E-B, the dominant grocer in Central Texas, has issued a recall of diced chicken sold at 114 of its stores.

A batch of Mi Tienda Pollo Casero was mislabeled as Mi Tienda Al Pastor Pork. The packages do not declare wheat as an ingredient, the company said, posing a health risk to those with wheat allergies.

The recall only affects Mi Tienda Pollo Casero with a UPC of 23841700000, an item code of 364185 and a sell-by date of Oct. 12.

All products currently on store shelves are safe to eat, H-E-B said in an advisory.

Customers who have purchased Mi Tienda Pollo Casero can return it to any H-E-B for a refund.

For more information, call H-E-B at (855) 432-4438.
