Birds Barbershop plans location in Westlake area

Birds Barbershop is growing yet again.

The homegrown chain said Thursday it plans to open a new location in January in the Westlake area.

The new Birds will be in The Forum shopping center at 3736 Bee Caves Road. Other tenants in the center include the popular Texas Honey Ham restaurant.

“We’ve always had an eye on Westlake, but commercial real estate there is tight,” said Michael Portman, who co-founded Birds with business partner and childhood friend Jayson Rapaport 12 years ago. “When this opportunity came up at the crossroads of Bee Caves Road and Westbank, we jumped.”
