24 Diner’s Real Ale Dinner. 24 Diner’s second beer dinner is with one of Austin’s most established breweries. The two longtime friends have paired up in a perfect way, showcasing seasonal ingredients with each dish and a full range of Real Ale brews, including one in its Mysterium Verum series. Austin Eastciders’ La Barbecue Pairing Dinner. Once you’ve tried this pairing, you won’t be able to imagine how you never considered cider with barbecue before. La Barbecue will have five courses featuring never-before-tasted barbecue bites straight from the smoker, such as jalapeño sausage and glazed pork ribs, and Eastciders is pairing the dishes with their boozy apple offerings. These include several limited-edition ciders such as the Tequila Cider, aged in Dulce Vida Reposado barrels, and the newly released Spiced Cider. 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 29. $75. The Wine Down. The annual summer music series at the downtown 3Ten venue isn’t over yet. This month’s installment will feature a performance by Texas duo Love & Chaos. As always, there will be a pop-up from one of the stores in the Second Street District and bites from one of the area restaurants — this time, sweet shops Yummi Joy and the Living Room at the W Austin. "My Neighbor Totoro." One of Miyazaki’s most beloved films, "Totoro" is a deceptively simple tale of two girls, Satsuki and Mei, who move with their father to a new house in the countryside — discovering that the surrounding forests are home to a family of Totoros, gentle but powerful creatures. "The Goat or Who is Sylvia." Capital T Theatre takes on this sharply funny play from American provocateur Edward Albee. The focus of the play is Martin, a hugely successful architect whose seemingly ideal life falls apart when he reveals to his best friend that he is also in love with a goat named Sylvia.
