Within about six months of opening its third Austin location on the east side, Houndstooth Coffee has announced another one is on the way — this time, in Domain Northside’s entertainment district of Rock Rose. It’ll open this fall.

Like its East Austin spot, Houndstooth’s Rock Rose cafe will have cocktails, beer and wine in addition to its usual roster of coffee, tea and espresso drinks. The coffee shop’s bar area is set to be a blend between the brand’s first cafe, on North Lamar Boulevard, and sister cocktail bar Jettison in Dallas, according to a press release, and its overall look and feel reflect those of its other locations.

Houndstooth is clearly on a path of expansion in both Texas cities where it’s got coffee shops. The Austin-bred coffee company has three shops in Dallas, including one powered by solar energy that opened at the end of last year. But Houndstooth is also choosing its new spots carefully — each of the ones in Austin are in separate parts of the city, including downtown on Congress Avenue.

The Rock Rose location will be adjacent to Sway and Tarka Indian Kitchen, according to the release, at 11501 Rock Rose Ave, Ste. 118. Houndstooth’s East Austin cafe recently began offering all-day happy hour, with weekday specials on its cocktails, and no doubt the Rock Rose one will welcome day drinking fun, too.
