Second Street Social. The shops and restaurants in the Second Street District have a whole new round of deals planned for the monthly sip-and-stroll, including a prix fixe meal from Taverna. The Italian restaurant will serve a dish and wine pairing of your choice for $19.95. Master Pancake Theater: "Grease." Spend a summer night hopelessly devoted to getting goofy about "Grease," the musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, with Austin’s masters of movie mockery, Master Pancake. Popcorn, drinks and candies will be provided. This screening is part of Austin Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program. 2018 Woodland Faerie Trail Exhibit. Walk along a scenic trail in Zilker Botanical Garden to see all the faerie houses that have been created for this summer show. The whimsical designs of each house highlights native materials and plants found in Texas, such as local seeds, tree bark, twigs, stumps and shells. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Aug. 10. "The 6 Ds of Container Gardening Success." No matter if you want winter color or summer vegetables, you can grow your garden in containers. The Zilker educational seminar by Travis County master gardener Kirk Walden covers what you’ll need to know to have gardening success, and participants will leave with a list of recommended plants and resources suitable for Central Texas. Guided Garden Tour.Tour the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s gardens and trails with a knowledgeable volunteer docent, who will talk about native plants and the history and architecture of the center.
