Memorial Day weekend doesn’t just give us an extra day off work — it also marks the beginning of summer. Here’s how to celebrate during all three days.

Friday, May 25: Real Ale’s Galactic Hans Launch. Real Ale collaborated with the Alamo Drafthouse to create a Galactic version of their beloved Hans Pils in celebration of the new "Solo: A Star Wars Story" movie. The beer is dry-hopped with Galaxy hops. Sip it during the show.

Friday, May 25: Memorial Day Weekend Zip Line Tours. How about a little adventure in the sky? Zip Lost Pines will take you on a guided zip line tour that will provide views of the Lost Pines forest. Stick around for lawn games like corn hole, giant Jenga, horseshoes and more.

Saturday, May 26: Float the Moat at NLand Surf Park. NLand will be offering tubing for the first time ever on Memorial Day weekend. You can "float the moat" before or after you spend a session surfing (which is encouraged but not required) and then enjoy a few hours of entertainment, including live music and belly dancing.

Saturday, May 26: Fried Chicken and Rosé Picnic at Mattie’s. Rosé season has officially arrived, and Mattie’s is throwing a picnic party to celebrate with C.L. Butaud’s 2017 vintage, a delicious blend of Texas-grown grenache noir, piquepoul blanc and rolle. Enjoy it with a savory plate of fried chicken and all the fixings.

Saturday, May 26: Craftsman’s Three Year Anniversary Oyster Shuck and Prosecco Party. What could be better than an afternoon of oysters, bubbles and beer at this East Austin bungalow bar? Not much. Savor fresh East Coast oysters, shucked onsite by Chef Shane Stark of on-site food truck Alley Cat, with $3 glasses of Prosecco on tap and $3 Dos Equis drafts.

Saturday, May 26: Lone Star Jam. Taking over the Rodeo Austin grounds, this annual Texas-country, weekend-long throwdown gathers many of the top draws — including Gary Allan and Reckless Kelly — on the regional roadhouse circuit. — Peter Blackstock

Sunday, May 27: Biscuits & Booze at Zilker Brewing. Booze it up at the East Austin brewery, which is hosting an afternoon of brunch, biscuits, beermosas, bluegrass and more.

Sunday, May 27: "Dazed and Confused" School’s Out Party. With the 25th anniversary of the film the JW Marriott is throwing a rooftop pool party before a screening of this most quintessential Austin film. The afternoon will feature DJ beats, "Dazed"-themed cocktail specials and food menu, as well as raffles, giveaways and prizes.

Monday, May 28: W Austin’s Soundwave. The W Hotel’s popular summer pool party, normally on Sundays, is back for a special Memorial Day edition with DJ beats and more.

?Monday, May 28: Irene’s Birthday Bash?. The comfort food eatery with one of the best patios in town celebrates two years with a cookout, a three-tier strawberry cake and, of course, lots of booze.

Monday, May 28: The Hell Yes Project Olympics at the ABGB. The Memorial Day party features eight Austin nonprofits competing in field day-style activities, such as a water balloon toss, speed cornhole and crowler can stacking, for a $1,000 prize. Participating nonprofits include Austin Pets Alive, Save Our Springs Alliance, Central Texas Food Bank and AIDS Services of Austin.

Monday, May 28: The 2nd Annual Rod Run at Treaty Oak Distilling. Vintage cars and hot rods will be back on display at Treaty Oak’s scenic ranch in Dripping Springs, where there will also be live music and lots of cocktails.
