Representatives from The University of Texas at Austin showed up at around 30 high school seniors’ homes and surprised them with a full-ride scholarship.
The school officials walked into prospective students’ homes carrying balloons and a huge $48,000 check, according to the Dallas Morning News. The money is part of the university’s Impact Scholarship, which covers students’ tuition for four years. The Morning News reports students are chosen based on financial need and merit among other factors.
Some of the chosen students took to Twitter to share their Texas-sized surprise.
