Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday this year, which means you totally have an excuse to celebrate all weekend long. Here are some of the top events in Austin, from fireworks and festivals to live music, dancing and great food.

The Volstead is throwing a party for four days straight starting Friday with live music, a free cookout on Sunday and a ‘Merica dance party on the holiday itself.
Independence Brewing Co. and Tacos of Texas are releasing Revolución Saison Ale, a beer that allegedly perfectly complements a taco. They’re throwing a party on Saturday to celebrate the release and it’s free with RSVP (or for a $45 VIP pass, you get unlimited beer and snacks).
Have a classic Austin weekend with Bob Schneider at Nutty Brown Cafe on Saturday or feel all-American with a tribute to Tom Petty (performed by Moving Panoramas) and a tribute to Bob Dylan (performed by Jared Copeland) at Hotel Vegas on Sunday.

Enjoy vintage R&B, blues and soul at The ABGB on July 4 with music from The Soul Supporters, followed by a group bike ride to the fireworks at Auditorium Shores.
Eat as many corn dogs as humanly possible at Black Sheep Lodge’s seventh annual Corn Dog Eating Contest — yes, there’s a cash prize.
Roast a whole hog, enjoy free hot dogs and maybe even take part in a hot dog eating contest at Half Step’s Fourth of July Extravaganza featuring music from Afrofreque and Mamafesta.
Watch burly, bearded, oiled-up men wrestle in a giant pool of pudding — no, seriously — at The Blackheart.
Have an all-American holiday with baseball. The Round Rock Express are playing the Memphis Redbirds, followed by a postgame fireworks show.
