Austin’s NBC affiliate will launch a new lifestyle show this summer, according to station president and general manager Eric Lassberg.
Job postings are up for a host and executive producer for the program, which doesn’t have a name just yet.
KXAN’s noon newscast will shrink from an hour to 30 minutes to make way for the new show, which is set to air at 12:30 p.m.
The announcement comes just a few days after KEYE posted three jobs for a new lifestyle show it plans to launch.
Station managers at KEYE said they weren’t ready just yet to share details on the program, including its name, debut date and time slot.
KXAN’s show will primarily target women, Lassberg said, serving up "ideas that would help them better enjoy their lives in Central Texas."
"The show will provide its audience great content that’s relevant to their lives here in Central Texas," he said. "Whether it’s health and fitness ideas in Austin, such as rowing down Lady Bird Lake, how to cook tasty meals with locally grown foods, local fashion trends, examples of local interior design styles, fun things to do with your family around town or staycation ideas in the region, the host of KXAN’s new show will be focused on showing the audience the latest and greatest things of interest that are specifically connected to people that live in Central Texas."
