Local PBS affiliate KLRU is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a slate of special programming.

Tune in Thursday at 7:30 p.m. to see locally produced "Arts in Context: Tardeadas." The show focuses on Tejano music, with producers spending an entire week following Conjunto Los Pinkys, an Austin-based band.

Then, Thursday at 8 p.m., stick around for "Vamos al Baile" ("Let’s Go to the Dance"), where you’ll see performances by Little Joe y La Familia, Ruben Ramos and the Mexican Revolution, and Joel Guzman with Sarah Fox.

One other quick programming note from KLRU: The station will host a screening of "Genealogy Roadshow," a new PBS show, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Highland Park Baptist Church, 5206 Balcones Drive.

Joshua Taylor, one of the show’s genealogy experts, will be on hand, along with some Central Texans who were lucky enough to be featured this season.
