KLBJ-FM is shuffling its DJ lineup.
The changes, which take effect Monday, start first thing in the morning, with "The Dudley and Bob Show" adding an hour. It’ll now run until 10 a.m. on 93.7 FM and online at klbjfm.com.
B-DOE is up next at 10 a.m., followed by LA Lloyd at 3 p.m. and CJ Morgan at 7 p.m.
The jocks, some of the city’s most personable radio hosts, say they’re excited about the changes.
"After rocking the KLBJ-FM airwaves for over 10 years, I look forward to bringing the Rowdy Rocker experience to the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. slot," B-DOE said. "If it happens in Austin, you’ll hear about it on my show. The adventure is real, and I love to bring the Rowdy Rockers along for the ride."
In addition to his midday shift, B-DOE will continue as the rock station’s music director, as well as host of "Local Insights," a show "showcasing all the great nonprofits Austin has to offer," which airs on other Emmis-owned radio stations in Austin.
Those other Emmis stations include 93.3 KGSR-FM, 101.5 KROX-FM and 103.5 KBPA-FM.
A self-proclaimed "purveyor of partying," B-DOE says the three most important things in life are "working, partying and rocking."
Morgan said his nighttime show will have the same sound and feel listeners became accustomed to when he was heard earlier in the day.
"As the man of many self-given nicknames – ‘The Captain,’ ‘The Wizard,’ ‘Dr. Midnight’ – I look forward to bringing my weird and random take on radio back to evenings, where I can rock a slightly more intoxicated audience," Morgan said.
Features during Morgan’s show include chats with a variety of guests, fake commercials and reverse prank calls, where he pesters telemarketers.
"I love embodying that type of cliché shock jock radio while completely making fun of it and myself," he said. "It’s so meta."
The move to nights, Morgan said, will allow him to spend more time working on digital content for the local Emmis stations.
"I like to do an interactive radio show," he said. "I want to entertain Austin’s ears on air and eyes on social media, on the KLBJ-FM website and out in the public. That means when I’m not making fart jokes on the mic, I’m making videos, taking phone calls, writing a blog and chatting on Facebook and Twitter."
Both B-DOE and Morgan have podcasts available on the KLBJ website, along with "The Dudley and Bob Show’s" subscription-only "Sideshow."
