There’s a new face on KEYE’s weekend newscasts.

Ericka Miller settled in this month as news anchor for the CBS affiliate’s Saturday and Sunday night newscasts. She replaces Katherine Stolp, who left recently to work for Silicon Labs.

Miller arrives from WXII, the NBC station serving Winston-Salem, N.C., where she spent the past two years anchoring weekend newscasts. Before that, she spent about six years in Rochester, Minn., working her way up from reporter to main anchor.

"Austin is wonderful," she said. "The TV stations here are really competitive. I love that."

A foodie, Miller said she’s wasted little time hitting up some of the city’s well-publicized food trailers and restaurants.

"Everything I’d heard is true," she said. "There are so many places here I’m dying to check out."

At KEYE, Miller says she’s quickly bonded with her colleagues, especially sports anchor Adam Winkler and meteorologist Jordan Steele, her partners on the weekend anchor desk, as well as morning anchor Deeda Payton, a fellow University of Miami graduate.

"I feel like I’m already part of the family," she said.
