For the first time in its history, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum invited an artist to transform its gallery with a site-specific installation, choosing celebrated Austin artist Margo Sawyer to do so.

And thanks to a recent fundraising campaign, the museum is offering free admission through Aug. 31.

In addition to a floor installation of mirror block and tiles interspersed with thousands of stainless steel balls, Sawyer created four outdoor site specific installations using re-purposed vintage bricks and tiles sourced from historic buildings in Elgin, where the artist and longtime University of Texas art professor has lived and maintained a studio for many years.
