After a successful initial launch, Print Austin — a month-long city-wide celebration of fine-art printmaking — will be back in 2015, organizers have announced.
The first iteration earlier this year hosted 60 free events — exhibits, printmaking demonstrations, artists’ talks and other related happenings — at 28 venues. (A feature story about Print Austin 2014 is here.)
Founded by artists Elvia Perrin and Cathy Savage, Print Austin 2015 will be held Jan. 15-Feb. 15.
With UT’s reputable long-standing printmaking program, the Blanton Museum of Art’s renowned print collection and nationally-recognized fine art printmaking workshops such as Flatbed Press and Coronado Studios, Austin has long been recognized as percolating center for printmaking.
