Jeff Galloway, known for popularizing the run-walk-run method of training, will talk about staying injury free while preparing for a half marathon during a free session Saturday at Luke’s Locker.

The appearance coincide’s with the kickoff of the Galloway Half Marathon Training Programs based at the Austin and Georgetown locations of Luke’s Locker.

The event starts at 7 a.m. with a shoe and clothing seminar at the Austin location, 115 Sandra Muraida Way. Galloway will lead a 3-mile easy run on the trail at about 8 a.m., followed by a meet and greet at the store starting at about 8:45 a.m.

Galloway made the 1972 U.S. Olympic Team in the 10,000 meters.Today he owns two running specialty stores and conducts a broad range of training programs and events. He’s written several books on running and writes a monthly column for Runner’s World magazine. His low-mileage, three-day-a-week training programs have helped thousands of runners through their first marathon.
