I love to sleep in a tent.
I’ll take fabric walls, sleeping bags and campfires over a luxury hotel any day. A tent gets you places most people never see. It also gets you back country sunrises and hidden beauty that’s not found just off the highway.
I did a little happy dance this morning, when I got a press release from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, announcing a campy new license plate that will be available next spring.
The plate shows a cozy A-framed tent, suitable for sleeping in at Texas parks. Even better, $22 of the $30 annual cost of the plate will benefit Texas State Parks.
I’ve long loved my horny toad license plate, but it might be time for a change.
