Sometimes it drives me crazy, sitting on my butt at my desk for hours a day.

I know, I know. I cover fitness, so I get out more than the average 9-to-5-er. But I still sit at a desk for at least 8 hours most days. And when I do finally stand up, I feel like Quasimodo, hunched over and stiff.

A couple of people in the newsroom have adopted those big bouncy balls instead of office chairs. But I’m too uncoordinated to balance on one all day. (Yes, I’ve tried.)

Maybe what I need is a FitDesk. With one of these nifty cycling desks, I could pedal merrily along, toning my legs and averting petrification while I spat out copy.

Two entrepreneurs came up with the idea while training for a 100-mile cycling fund-raiser three years ago. They decided their desk jobs were weighing them down, and attached a table top to a stationery bike.
