Austin has its fair share of beer festivals.

While a lot of them end up blurring together (how many Texas-specific or just "craft" festivals take place every year, with more popping up all the time, it seems), recently, some businesses are starting to narrow down the focus to feature only certain styles of beer instead of the catch-all approach. Which is awesome. Most recently, Flix Brewhouse hosted a cask-conditioned beer festival, and now Pinthouse Pizza will throw a party centered around Belgian-style brews.

This Saturday (May 18), Pinthouse Pizza will bust out 40 + Belgian and Belgian-style brews from around the world (and some from right here in Austin) for thirsty patrons. Head brewer Joe Mohrfeld said he’s excited to put on a beer event that Austin hasn’t seen before.

"We have been working with Christine Celis on securing a number of rare beers, as well as other distributers, importers and local breweries. We are excited that Josh Hare, Hops and Grain, has agreed to brew 2 beers just for this event!"

He says that while it’s hard to pick favorites out of such an exciting lineup, "a couple of my favorites that are often quite hard to come by though are Rodenbach Grand Cru, Bockor Cuvee De Jacobins Rouge, Paard Brouwers Prearis Quad and de Dool Ter Dolen Kriek."

Attached is a preliminary list of the beers that will be available. There will be two sessions taking place, to accomodate crowds. One from noon to 4 p.m. and one from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25, which includes Pinthouse Pizza Belgian Beerfest glassware, 1 raffle ticket and 4 tickets, each good for a 6 oz. tasting. Additional tickets available for purchase for $3 each (cash only). Tickets can be bought here: http://phpbelgianbeerfest.eventbrite.com/
