Safety goggles (2), wrist wrap, three kinds of tape (Scotch, electrical and duct), sand paper, a small towel suitable for wiping sweat, blister pads, a container bottle of hand antiseptic, a pack of kitchen sponges, two mini lint rollers, a roll of compression wrap, Post-It notes (two sizes), a calendar …

I have seen the goodie bags for this year’s 3M Half Marathon, and they’re ridiculous. They’re stuffed with enough stuff to outfit a small office. The tape in one bag alone probably stretches from here to the moon.

The race, scheduled for Jan. 19, is known for having the best goodie bags in town.

All the freebies take some of the sting out of the $100 entry fee. Seriously, I don’t think you could buy all this stuff for a C-Note.

Another thrilling component of the 3M race? It’s downhill. Check out the elevation profile. It’s a great course for a personal record.

Last year’s race sold out with 7,000 entrants. This year’s cap has increased to 8,000.
