Last week we told you about Austin Beer Run Club. This week we bring you bRUNch Running.
And just like the Beer Run Club meets weekly for a run and some beer, the bRUNch Running club meets for a run and, you got it, brunch.
The group started in Denver and will expand to Austin this fall, where members will gather each Sunday for a 5 or 10K run followed by brunch at a local restaurant.
"While there are many nutritious way to end a run - like a protein shake - French toast and mimosas are a lot more fun," said Alexandra Weissner, co-founder of bRUNch Running.
Each outing will cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. That includes the run, an entree, two drinks (alcoholic or non-alcholic), tax and gratuity. A portion of proceeds will benefit a local non-profit.
Austin marks bRUNch’s first foray into Texas. Organizers say the group chose Austin because of its active and engaged running community, which also has a passion for food. (Who doesn’t?) It also operates clubs in Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins and Phoenix. In the next year, bRUNch will launch other Texas chapters.
