I’m pretty fond of the horny toad license plates on my car, but the new camping-themed ones have me wondering if it’s time to change things up.
The new plates feature a cozy-looking tent, all lit up by a campfire (please don’t start a fire this close to your tent in real life, people!) and starry skies. They make me want to sneak away from my computer and pound a few stakes in the ground.
They cost $30 a year, with $22 going to the Texas State Parks Department.
To order, go to http://www.conservationplate.org/ or drop by your local county tax office. You don’t have to wait for a vehicle registration renewal notice.
