It turns out that Boggy Creek Farm owner Carol Ann Sayle isn’t the only farmer-artist in town.

Sayle, who had a career as a painter before she started her East Austin farm, is among the 18 Central Texas farmers whose works will be on display Saturday through Aug. 28 at the Prizer Gallery, 2023 E. Cesar Chavez St.

The Farmer as Artist exhibit explores the link between creativity and agriculture and features paintings from farmers including Brenton Johnson of Johnson’s Backyard Garden, Max Elliott of Urban Roots, Earl Vallery of Tecolote Farm and Evan Driscoll of Green Gate Farms, and the gallery is hosting a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the show. (If you’d like to see the exhibit Sunday through Wednesday, send an email to prizeraustin@gmail.com to set up an appointment.)
