Did you know La Grange has one of the state’s top kitchen stores?

Le Petite Gourmet Shoppe has been open on the square in the small town about an hour east of Austin since 2006, and owner Donella Dopslauf-Cernosek keeps her store filled with the latest kitchen utensils, gadgets and specialty products. Just this month, the store moved just around the corner to 226 W. Colorado, which is still on the La Grange square but in a space that is twice the size of Le Petite’s previous home. (It’s also right down the street from the Texas Quilt Museum, which is worth the drive to La Grange all by itself.) Dopslauf-Cernosek says that with the move, she’s been able to expand the classroom, in which instructors from around the world, including in-store chef Mike Morphew, who famously was once on the kitchen staff at Buckingham Palace, teach cooking classes.

This week, Dopslauf-Cernosek and her team are hosting a three-day grand reopening celebration with guest cooking instructors, product demonstrations and tastings. The event will take place during store hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and you can find out more on the website, lepetitegourmetshoppe.com.
