Two Alamo Drafthouse theaters in Austin are screening food films on Wednesday that benefit local nonprofits.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is hosting a screening of "In Organic We Trust" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Village, 2700 W. Anderson Lane. All the proceeds from tickets ($10) will go to the local nonprofit Urban Roots. After the screening, director Robert Kiplin Pastor and State Rep. Eddie Rodriguez, founder and chair of the Farm to Table Caucus, will be on hand to discuss the film.
Also at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane will screen "A Place at the Table," a documentary exploring world hunger. The movie will be followed with a Q&A to follow led by Mobile Loaves & Fishes founder Alan Graham. Tickets cost $20 with proceeds going to Mobile Loaves & Fishes.
Tickets available for both movies at the door or at drafthouse.com.
