The newly remodeled Quality Seafood Market, 5621 Airport Blvd., is starting a new series of cooking classes in the new year.

The scheduled classes so far include a paella class ($45 each) this Thursday (and again on Feb. 20 and March 20) with local Spanish chef Fer Candil of Paellas, Tapas & More, oyster and wine pairing classes ($60 each) on Jan. 23 and Feb. 13, and knife skills classes ($50) that don’t have a date yet.

(I took a class with Candil last week at Vom Fass in West Lake Hills, and it was delightful. She didn’t teach paella, but her enthusiasm for Spanish cuisine and culture is infectious.)
