Four years ago, Hilah Johnson and Christopher Sharpe never would have imagined that they’d both be working full time making online food videos.

Today, the Austinites behind HilahCooking.com and the insanely popular Hilah Cooking channel on YouTube spend their days creating funny and informative cooking videos that show people how to prepare everything from enchiladas to copycat recipes for fast foods like McDonalds’ Filet-O-Fish sandwich. (Their Chick-Fil-Gay sandwich remains one of their most-viewed recipes and videos ever.)

With all those videos, subscribers and Hilah’s mission to answer just about every comment left on her site, Johnson and Sharpe were among the 2014 Statesman Social Media Award winners, where were announced earlier this week.
