Searsucker chef de cuisine Adam Brown is leaving the restaurant at 415 Colorado St. Brown, who joined Searsucker in June following a fire that delayed the restaurant’s grand opening, is returning to Arizona for personal reasons.
The San Diego-based restaurant’s executive chef and partner Brian Malarkey, who came to national attention on Bravo’s ‘Top Chef,’ will be involved in the hiring of Brown’s replacement.
"Chef Adam is an incredibly talented young chef and like a little brother to me. At just 22 years old, I’ve been blown away by both his passion and his talent and know that he’ll continue on to do great things," Malarkey said. "I can’t thank him enough for being a part of our opening team and helping to get us to where we are now. I look forward to visiting him next time I am in Scottsdale but for now, onward and upward with Searsucker Austin."
Also leaving Searsucker is pastry chef Samantha Hughes, Brown’s girlfriend, who came to Austin with Brown.
