One of the most exciting restaurants to open this year is now accepting reservations from the general public.

Jesse Griffiths and Tamara Mayfield have spent almost eight years cultivating a growing core of customers (fans) through their Dai Due supper clubs and appearances at farmers markets. Now they bring their seasonal and imaginative refined rustic cooking to a space at 2406 Manor Rd. that serves as both butcher shop and dining room. After a week of taking reservations from people on their mailing list, they are now accepting reservations from the general public.

While you eat dishes like a sublime lardo whipped with honey and thyme or venison tartare on tostada, the butchers might be breaking down whole animals on the other side of the room. The dining room, colored in brick, wood and Baltic blues is both brawny and elegant.

The butcher shop is open Tuesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and dinner is served nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations can be made on OpenTable.com.
