Foodie kids are everywhere on TV it seems. “MasterChef Junior,” “Chopped Junior” and “Food Network Star Kids” are just a few of the programs that feature kids as young as seven or eight cooking some seriously impressive food.

A number of Central Texas youngsters have participated in these programs, and countless others attend cooking classes and culinary camps. Two of them will be on hand at a Slow Food Austin fundraiser on Saturday at Patricia’s Table, 1510 W. 35th St. The young chefs — 13-year-old Jack Crabb and 11-year-old Alex Alcorta — will be paired with professional chefs Amber Antonelli of The Naked Bite and Jesse DeLeon from Victoria Provisions to make the four-course dinner. The event starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, is BYOB and costs $80, with tickets online at slowfoodaustin.org.
