Indie theater festival FronteraFest has announced that several productions previously forced to close have found new venues.
Last week, Ground Floor Theatre was shuttered after city inspectors uncovered that the venue’s proprietors had never undertaken the official inspections to obtain a necessary certificate of occupancy.
The 4,500-square-feet Ground Floor Theatre, which is in warehouse complex at 979 Springdale Road, has been open since December 2014.
The venue’s sudden shut-down last week resulted in all of FronteraFest’s Long Fringe programming, which features new plays that are 45 minutes or longer, was forced to cancel.
Four shows, however, have stayed under the auspices of the festival at new locations and four have independently found new venues.
