• Is Oasis coming to the Austin City Limits Music Festival? A tour schedule released Tuesday has the British band playing in Dallas Sept. 22 and Houston Sept. 25. The ACL Fest is Sept. 22-25, leaving two possible dates for the Gallagher brothers and company. "You can connect the dots," says Fest booker Charles Attal, "but I'm not confirming anything right now." Also rumored to be on the schedule, which will be announced May 5, is Coldplay, whose new album drops this summer. -- Michael Corcoran

• Acts such as the Flatlanders, Billy Joe Shaver, Reckless Kelly, David Holt, Mystic Knights Of the Sea and Texana Dames raised more than $15,000 for their ailing friend, guitarist Jesse "Guitar" Taylor, Sunday at Threadgill's, as more than 600 friends and fans paid the $25 cover. So beloved is the guitar slinger, who made his name in Joe Ely's great Lubbock band, that most of the musicians who played also paid cover. Stricken with hepatitis C and other liver problems, Taylor was recently hospitalized, but he was in fine form Sunday, sitting in on several songs. -- M.C.

• Guitarist Denny Freeman and Elana Fremerman (ex-Hot Club of Cowtown) are currently in Bob Dylan's band, and the Austin connection goes further with the announcement that the Greencards will open seven weeks of the Dylan/ Willie Nelson tour beginning May 25. The band's local sendoff will be May 6 at the Saxon Pub. "When the Greencards signed up with their booking agent in Nashville, he had them write a wish list and at the top was 'open for Bob Dylan,' " the band's publicist Jill McGucken said. "They've been walking on air since they found out." -- M.C.
