How do 75,000 people park in Zilker Park for the Austin City Limits Festival? They don't. Luckily, festival organizers, Capital Metro and the State of Texas collaborate to offer various transportation options.
Parking and shuttles: Shuttles will pick up festival-goers at Waterloo Park at Trinity and 14th streets between 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. On Friday, parking is available at state garages near Trinity between 12th Street and 17th Street no earlier than 6 p.m. Before 6 p.m. you might get a ticket or a tow. Parking fees: $5-$7. Starlight Dillos: These Dillos will operate every 12-15 minutes at all stops marked 'Starlight Dillo' from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Passenger drop-offs: Drop festival-goers at Austin High School on Stephen F. Austin Drive, next to the footbridge under Loop 1 (MoPac Boulevard). Taxicabs: Cabs will have access to festival entrance and exit gates. Bicycles: Racks will be available at the festival entrance gate. Provide your own lock. -- Source: aclfestival.com |
