• After an extensive search, Zachary Scott Theatre has found its Hank for "Hank Williams' Lost Highway," which opens later this month and is virtually destined for an extended run. Nashville-based singer Kenneth Brian recently played the Continental Club. "He is the real deal," says Zach Scott director Dave Steakley, "a 24-year-old hillbilly, lanky cowboy singer, totally in the vein of Hank. He grew up in a coal miner family, has the same birthday as Hank and dropped out of high school and went to Nashville to sing. He is the part." Check out the singer at www.kennethbrian.com. -- Michael Barnes

• Remember the the Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ that graced Jessen Auditorium in the Old Music Building at the University of Texas? Designed by late Dean E. William Doty and unveiled Nov. 10, 1942, it was retired in 1983 when the Visser-Rowland tracker organ was installed in Bates Recital Hall. In 1997, it was purchased by St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of Amarillo and June 3 and 5, Thomas Murray, organ professor at Yale, will break it in with members of the Amarillo Symphony. -- M.B.
