After stops at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Houston's Discovery Green Park, a cadre of New Orleans chefs and tourism marketers are swinging through Austin to show off a little about what makes New Orleans special.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at 103 E. Seventh St., chef Brian Landry of John Besh's Borgne, will be hosting cooking demonstrations and giving away samples from the Follow Your NOLA food truck, which is in the middle of a weeklong road trip from New Orleans to a trio of Texas cities.

Landry will be demonstrating how to make a fried oyster and Chappapeela pork belly open face BLT, and his staff will be handing out samples of a pasta dish made with Louisiana white shrimp, sugar snaps and handmade sweet corn orecchiette.

You can also catch musical performances and a fully dressed Mardi Gras Indian chief throughout the day. The food truck's next stop is Dallas.

The campaign is a joint effort of the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and New Orleans Convention Visitors Bureau.
