After a long hiatus, Thai restaurant Titaya’s has re-opened at 5501 N. Lamar Blvd. For years the restaurant was a popular destination, with lines often extending outside of the building. Following a respite, the namesake owner returns with her brother, chef Ek Timrerk, to a brighter, more stylized space with a revamped menu.

Timrerk, a three-year Uchi veteran who helped open the original East Side King trailer, was one of two chefs behind the excellent Spin Modern Thai near Lakeline Mall. That restaurant closed last year, and Timrerk has returned to the restaurant he helped his sister open. The menu features many of Titaya’s popular dishes, along with some more delicate and modern preparations. Spin and Titaya’s were both in my Top 50 restaurants in 2012, so I’m excited to see what the brother-and-sister team can achieve working together.

Titaya's doesn't appear to have an official website, but it looks like UrbanSpoon.com has the menu.
