Update: Kent Black of Black's Barbecue in Lockhart confirms that his family's business will expand its reach to Guadalupe Street this summer. The Blacks will bring in their barbecue daily from the Lockhart location. They hope to open sometime this summer. Kent Black also reiterated that Terry Black's Barbecue, owned by his brother and nephews and set to open soon, is not affiliated with Black's of Lockhart, though he wishes them the best.

Earlier: Mark and Michael Black, great-grandsons of Black's Barbecue founder Edgar Black, plan to open Terry Black's Barbecue (named after their father) soon on Barton Springs Road, as we told you earlier this year.

It looks like they won't be the only members of the Black family opening a joint in Austin. The attached picture is a sign on the door of the old Boomerang's Pies at 3110 Guadalupe St. #150. No word on whether this operation will be run by Kent Black (uncle of Mark and Michael), but the sign does simply say Black's Barbecue, which Kent has a hand in running. A call has been placed to Black's in Lockhart for comment.
