#46 Salty Sow A charcuterie and cheese board impresses with a smooth chicken liver mousse and creamy Mt. Tam cheese, as does a rosy almost-rare duck breast with turnips in a tangy cardamom-orange sauce.

Roaring Fork (701 Congress Ave.) and Salty Sow (1917 Manor Rd.), both owned by Austin restaurateurs Guy Villavaso and Larry Foles, will be offering a buy-one, get-one-free deal on the 4th of July.

Trio is also getting in on the celebration of independence. The Four Seasons restaurant will roll out a buffet of salads, smoked meats and gourmet tacos, along with a front-row view of the lakeside fireworks, on the Fourth of July. The event, which runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., costs $46 for adults and $22 for children. More information at TrioRestaurantAustin.com.
