Froyoyo adds artisan chocolates, frozen yogurt-topped cupcakes

West Lake Hills residents Dave and Joan Duce fell in love with making frozen yogurt with the Bulgarian yogurt from Austin’s White Mountain Pure Foods Co., and at the push of friends and neighbors who couldn’t get enough, they opened Froyoyo in 2009 at 3201 Bee Cave Road.

A number of frozen yogurt shops have opened in Austin the five years since, and the Duces are expanding their offerings to now include frozen yogurt-topped cupcakes and some of the finest chocolates you can get in Central Texas.

They continue to sell numerous flavors of self-serve yogurt that customers then top with sprinkles, gummies or even the tapioca pearls found in bubble tea, and all of it is made with White Mountain’s probiotic-rich Bulgarian yogurt.

But when customers first walk into the store next to the new Raising Cane’s in West Lake Hills, they’ll now see a wall of artisan chocolate bars from some of the country’s top craft chocolate bar makers, including Fruition, Askinosie, Videri, Amano and Raaka. They also carry a handful of Texas chocolatiers, such as Tejas, out of Spring, and the Austin-based Kiskadee and SRSLY.

The bars, which start at $7 and are made with the highest quality cacao beans available, are for nibbling, but you can’t say the same about the frozen yogurt-topped cupcakes that the Duces started selling a few weeks ago. The cupcakes cost $3.65 each and are available in chocolate cake with cookies and cream yogurt, vanilla cake with yellow cake batter yogurt and vanilla cake with sea salt caramel yogurt.
