When you don’t feel like cooking, you can eat leftovers, go out to a restaurant or heat up fresh or frozen prepared food.
A new store in West Lake Hills wants to offer another option for that third choice. The store is the first Texas location of Villarina’s Pasta & Fine Foods, a New York-based company that has been selling pastas and other Italian dishes in the Northeast for more than 45 years.
The Austin-area store moved from Kyle to 3201 Bee Cave Road earlier this year and is offering dozens of kinds of fresh pastas, such as penne, paperdelle, linguini and stuffed rigatoni, as well as soups, bread, pizza, salads and family-size dinners, including lasagnas, chicken or eggplant parmigiana, manicotti, chicken marsala, eggplant rollatini and meatballs. Customers also can browse a range of accompaniments, including sauces, olive oils, vinegars, charcuterie, cheese and desserts.
In recent years, the company has added gluten-free dinners, including vegetable lasagna and eggplant parmigiana. You can find out more about the store, which is open from 12 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, at villarina.com.
