Lenoir owners Todd Duplechan and Jessica Maher, seen here with son Hollis, are opening Metier, a cookbook and kitchen store next to their South First Street restaurant later this year.

San Francisco has Omnivore Books. New York has Kitchen Arts & Letters and Bonnie Slotnick Cookbooks. New Orleans has Kitchen Witch Cookbooks.

Austin has BookPeople, of course, not to mention Faraday's Kitchen Store, Central Market and Whole Foods' Culinary Center, which all sell a nice variety of cookbooks, but this summer, we'll get our first niche store dedicated to cookbooks, not to mention knives and other chef-approved kitchen gear.

Todd Duplechan and Jessica Maher, the couple behind the South First restaurant Lenoir, are turning the Flashback Vintage space next to their restaurant into Métier, a cookbook and kitchen store that will open this summer, Maher says.

Like Kitchen Arts & Letters, Métier will sell books that might be hard to find elsewhere, including high-level culinary books targeted toward food professionals and vintage cookbooks that nerdy cookbook lovers like me will adore combing through.

No website or Facebook page just yet, but you can follow Lenoir's Facebook page for updates.
