More local beer will start showing up at your nearby Spec's next week.

After implementing a new bottling line last month, Circle Brewing will release two of their mainstay beers in 12 oz. bottles starting on Monday. BLUR Texas Hefe and ENVY Amber will both be bottled and sold year-round.

Co-founder Ben Sabel says they aim to bottle the rest of their year-round brews (ALIBI Blonde, Hop Overboard Pale, and NIGHTLIGHT Irish Stout) and seasonals in bottles as well, starting in Spring 2014.

Sabel explained via email that they chose to bottle their beer instead of can for several reasons.

"While cans are more outdoor and water friendly, we were looking for a package that allowed for the best storage utility as well as experience.  While it is more expensive to bottle, our experience with other canning systems (in the same class as our bottling line) led to significantly higher levels of oxygen introduction during the packaging process, which far outweighs the minimal potential UV difference in cans v. brown bottles."

That being said, the brewery does plan on releasing 16 oz. tall boy cans of the ALIBI Blonde in the Spring, "because that just sounds awesome," Sabel said.
