The deadline for submitting a panel for 2015's South by Southest is Friday, July 25 (real talk: the deadline will be extended to Sunday, most likely). That means, if you're interested in attenting SXSW Interactive, Film, Music or SXSWedu as a speaker or moderator (and earn a free badge in the process), you'd better get your proposal in pronto.
But competition is stiff. Last year, there were 3,000 proposals submitted to SXSW Interactive Panel Picker alone. How can you stand out, and more importantly, avoid submitting an idea that everyone will hate?
I've got you covered. You can read this story from Thursday's American-Statesman rounding up advice we discussed on this week's "Statesman Shots" podcast. Not subscribed to the podcast? WHY NOT!? You've got 26 episodes to catch up on and you get to hear my melodious voice through your earbuds. If you want to skip straight to the audio for that segment, you can find it on SoundCloud.
Already submitted your panel proposal? Feel free to post a link to it in the comments here.
