Saturday´s Pick: Fall Out Boy, Sarah McLachlan, and Banger´s Anniversary

Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy

By Lucia Benavides

It is not only the first weekend of the hottest month of the year, but a weekend full of all kinds of music and anniversary parties.

The rock band that became popular in the early 2000s along with other emo punk groups of the era, Fall Out Boy, will return to Austin with Paramore and New Politics. The two leading bands have released platinum albums and performed sold out shows all around the globe. The concert, part of the Monumentour, will take place at the Austin360 Ampitheater at 7pm; tickets are still available and range from $25 to $63.50.

A less rowdy concert will take place at ACL Live with Sarah McLachlan performing live. While her songs have probably made you cry in the past - one of them is featured in a well-known commercial against animal abuse - her show will only put a smile on your face. The singer-songwriter has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and is a three-time Grammy winner. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

For an all day festivity, Banger´s Sausage House & Beer Garden on Rainey Street will celebrate two years of existence. The first anniversary party drew a huge crowd last year, and is likely to draw even more with their increase of popularity since then. Executive Chef Ted Prater will cook four whole animals in four different ways, with each being served as a taco - a set of four tacos will be available for $15. In addition to food, there will be music at the free event that takes place once a year; this time around starting at 11am. Expect to party the German way until midnight.
