By Peter Blackstock and Deborah Sengupta Stith

Nikki Lane at Stubb’s. Lane’s New West Records debut “All or Nothin’” is the latest credit for white-hot producer Dan Auerbach, the Black Keys mastermind who’s helmed big records for Ray LaMontagne, Valerie June and Psych Fest fave Bombino in the past year. “All or Nothin’” is a big step up for Lane, a South Carolina native now living in Nashville who showed early promise on an independent LP. This feels a little like the late-’90s breakout of Neko Case; Lane is brimming with vocal character and a cool, confident style, even if the record is mostly co-written material. Auerbach's writing has a heavy presence, possibly too much so; the lone Lane solo original, “Wild One,” is a standout that suggests we need to hear more of it the next time around. $12-$14. 9:30 p.m. 801 Red River St. stubbsaustin.com. — Peter Blackstock
