Austin label Music Road Records has set an April 1 release date for “Looking Into You: A Tribute to Jackson Browne,” with Austin acts Shawn Colvin, Bob Schneider, Kevin Welch, Eliza Gilkyson and Jimmy LaFave sidling up next to the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt and Don Henley.

The album was produced by Music Road partners LaFave and Kelcy Warren along with drummer Scott Crago and Nashville exec Tamara Saviano, whose previous producer credits include a Grammy-winning tribute to Stephen Foster and last year’s Guy Clark tribute (nominated for  a Grammy this year).

The two-disc package includes 23 tracks. Colvin does “Call It a Loan,” from Browne’s  1980 “Hold Out”; Schneider does the title track to the 1977 mostly-live collection “Running on Empty”; Welch does “Looking Into You” from Browne’s self-titled 1972 debut; Gilkyson does  “Before the Deluge” from 1975’s “Late for the Sky”; and LaFave does the title track from 1972’s “For Everyman.” Onetime Austinites Lyle Lovett and Lucinda Williams also appear, singing “Rosie” and “The Pretender,” respectively.
