Saturday music picks: United We Jam, Passenger, Riders Against the Storm

United We Jam at the Mohawk. The benefit for Austin Music People continues and the Saturday highlight is a fantastic showcase featuring a broad selection of top Austin talent. Orchestral pop powerhouse Mother Falcon headlines a show that also includes appearances from electronic composition wizard Roger Sellers and full-band hip-hop outfit Magna Carda. Related events take place at Beerland, Hotel Vegas, Spiderhouse, Stubb’s, the White Horse and Volstead. $10. 8 p.m. doors. 912 Red River St. —D.S.S.

Also: English acoustic singer-songwriter Passenger will play songs from his new album “Whispers,” and no doubt also his 2012 smash single “Let Her Go,” at a technically sold-out show on the Stubb’s outdoor stage (a few pricey VIP tickets are still available). … Riders Against the Storm present RAS Day at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard. In addition to music from Elizabeth McQueen, Jackie Venson and Bavu Blakes, the eight-hour celebration of music, health and community will feature yoga and dance workshops, games and healthy snacks. … KDRP presents “A Texas Tradition” at the Backyard with Los Lonely Boys, Texas Tornados, Alex Ruiz & the Night Mothers, the Peterson Brothers and Hunter Sharpe. … Local hip-hop artists including Space Camp Death Squad and Anya Anastasia gather at the Lucky Lounge to raise money for community radio station 88.7 FM KAZI “the heart and soul of Austin.” … A busy day and night at Strange Brew includes a 5 p.m. show by the incomparable songwriter Butch Hancock, a 7 p.m. set by the South Austin Moonlighters and a multi-artist show of Bee Gees songs at 9 p.m. There’s also a kids-music concert at 10 a.m. with Mr. Pancake. … Two local acts celebrate the release of new records: Suspirians, at the Lost Well with Amnesia Babies and the Surlys, and Uglytwin, at Red 7 with Dsgns, Revivalist and Bury the Rod. … The Continental Club presents Austin’s leading country-Americana couple, Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison.
