As May draws to a close, UT ends its 2013 session and temperatures begin to creep into the unbearable range, we are all forced to face the reality that summer is upon us. The good news? It's summer concert season, when big shows hit the road filling concert venues around the city. This week's Spotify playlist, Summer Concerts in Austin, is a look at some of the tours that will swing through town this summer. For this playlist we're primarily featuring larger touring acts -- we'll include more club shows in our monthly lookaheads. In terms of time, we defined summer as the period between June 1 and October 1, because let's face it folks, those are the long hot months ahead of us. Also, ACL Fest seems to mark the end of touring season, even beyond our city's borders.
First the bad news, if you're trying to see Mumford and Sons at the Austin360 Amphitheater, New Order at the Austin Music Hall or Fall Out Boy at Stubb's, you'll have to contact your local scalper. All of those shows are technically sold out.
