Austinite releases short film on iTunes starring Bryan Cranston

By Matthew Odam

Austin native Brandon Polanco has released on iTunes a short film he wrote, directed and produced starring Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”). Polanco was serving as a production assistant on “Cold Comes the Night,” a film starring Cranston that screened at the Austin Film Festival, when Hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast. Though the production was not immediately impacted, producers asked cast and crew to stay nearby during a few days of downtime. During their days off production, Cranston decided to give one of the PAs from “Cold Comes the Night” a chance to make a film with him. Polanco wrote and turned in his script for “Writer’s Block” and Cranston tapped the young PA to make the film. Buy the short film on iTunes here.
