"Friday Night Lights" is having a star-studded Austin preview Wednesday night at 7 at the Westgate 11 theater, and it just might be the hottest ticket in town.
The good news? It's free.
Passes are available only at www.fridaynightlightstheseries.com/sweeps.html. No tickets will be available at the box office. The Web site also has a contest entry form for teens (14-18) anywhere in the United States to win up to $50,000 for their high-school's football program.
"Friday Night Lights," inspired by H.G. Bissinger's 1990 book and the 2004 movie about high-school football in small-town Texas, has been filming in Central Texas since February. The series debuts Oct. 3 on NBC.
Cast members expected to attend include Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, who play the coach and his wife, and Gaius Charles, Zach Gilford, Taylor Kitsch, Scott Porter, Jesse Plemons, Minka Kelly and Aimee Teegarden, who play students and friends.
